Circular Co-living

Projekt

The scheme investigates how to use circular principles as a method to create and sustain a community, with the intension to become a bofællesskab. Formation is the key ingredient, not the architecture alone that creates an effective community.

Bring back building!

Projekt

From the 1960s Denmark has seen an explosion in collective housing. To maintain the accessible nature of bofællesskaber, modern more affordable types of housing and modular building techniques need to be adopted, while preserving a great deal of community involvement and self-build.

Hytten

Projekt

Low-impact housing was the name of the game when it came to designing hytten. A tiny house is small and efficient, aiming to include all the comforts and functions of a normal house in the smallest space possible.

Bofællesskaber - 1970 til i dag

News 03.11.21

The project Circular Co-Living is featured in Bofællesskaber - 1970 til i dag, by Michael Asgaard Andersen. The book addresses the renewed interest in collective housing, which is not least due to a focus on sustainable living. It is a form of housing that seems to both meet our individual needs and positively impact the societal and global challenges we face.

Housing for 10 Generations

Projekt

What if an architect could design an area with a sense of belonging for the residents and the public, where one would want to dwell and within this design buildings that are designed for disassembly to meet the changing needs of the occupants for at least 200 years?

Creating Circular Communities

Projekt

What if an architect could design a sustainable bofællesskab in an urban setting within a circular economy?

Joist Stol

Projekt

Made almost totally from construction materials, the Joist stol can be built from 100% upcycled off-cuts, from the previous Mosehuset project. The design promotes the sustainable timber-based materials that were used on the projects as well as the circular nature of the materials, having once been building materials, are now components for a piece of furniture.

Mosehuset

Projekt

A collaboration with Fabulas, Arkitema and Christoffer Harlang to design a bofællesskab using modulært byggeri. The project included visiting a number of factories in Denmark, Latvia and Estonia. This gave us great insight into modular design and construction techniques.

Last Home

Projekt

A proposal for a hospice near Kolindsund. The project was a sensitive design inspired by the local vernacular of landshuse, that sat into the landscape to reduce the overall scale of an otherwise large building.

RIBA Presidents Bronze Medal: Shortlisted

News 22.09.17

The project Focal Point was shortlisted for the RIBA bronze medal in 2017 and is featured on the Royal Institutes's website:

Presidents Medals: Focal Point – Where Photography and Architecture Meet

Focal Point

Projekt

Where photography and architecture meet. Unique in its own right, but sensitive to its context, it captures views of neighbouring buildings and maintains the courtyard's character within. So once again, the courtyard can become the focal point of the craftman's workplace.

WSR up and running!

News 05.10.23
